Minehead Station, West Somerset Railway, England
Watch an array of magnificent preserved steam locomotives haul their trains in and out of the station.
I have not seen the dog it must depend one when you log on
steam engines do not turn round they do one trip facing forwards and go backwards on the return trip. fred
Has anyone spotted the lovely Shepherd Colly Dog that crosses the line ahead of its orange trousered Master?
Also: will someone please explain how the engines get from the siding to the main line. How do the engines turn around? to get the train back to Bishops Lydeard?
I love the different folks that pass thru this station - especially on the weekends....so interesting to watch and of course the trains & engines are magnificent!!
I think that almost everyone in the United Kingdom knows that they are "being watched" 24/7/365. CCTV cams are EVERYWHERE. Almost literally. I read an article a while back about how many CCTVs there are in London alone, and I was shocked. It seems that almost every inch of downtown London is covered. To me that is wonderful. People in the USA seem to be so against them (Invasion of privacy) but I think they cut down on crime since people know they are being recorded. The world needs more of them. Walking around the streets in the UK, just glance up at street poles, traffic lights, the corners of buildings and I bet that you will see a cam or evidence that there is one hidden by a cover. Smile and don't do anything you don't want the world to see when walking and driving in The UK.
i see a large number of people arrive and depart from
minehead where on earth do they go and come from i know watchet is enroute also lydeard
enjoy web cam
" I am just wondering though is there a notice to say that you are being watched by live cam on the internet ? if not i seriously think there should be. What if someone has to get away in a serious matter such a divorce threat? and they get spotted on live cam going on the steam train ?"
Oh no please tell me you are not a paid up member of the pc police.
If by some minute chance someone as you describe is spotted and caught good, at least we will not have to keep their kids for them whilst they live the life of riley at our expense.
We were in portugal recently and I took a photo of my friends little boy in the pool, no one complained except an english woman who wanted to see the photo to make sure her daughter was not in it,
Sorry but I did lose it, what the hell was she accusing me of? some people need to get a life I'm afraid.
All railway stations have CCTV on at all times for security reasons and there are always clear notices stating such! If people need to 'get away in a serious matter such as a divorce threat' as mixed suggests - then tough! Think someone watches too many old romantic films.
Well i think this is great for people who enjoy looking at steam trains so i might tell my grandad about it.
