hi Ann,thats great mine are doing the same blue tits aswell are displaying around boxes. hawk nest coming on well,some days they just sit doing nothing then they can spend 10 mins to a hour nestbuilding lot of courtship and food offerings take place in copse at moment.Dave

cans live on 2010 nest ,building usually starts 8 am as it gets lighter earlyer the birds will be earlyer,normaly jusy breaking light.Dave

sparrowhawk nest in construction

hi everyone male sparrowhawk sterted to build nest today 01 01 2010 exactly same day as previous year,he will spend a bit of time each day untill may building it the female helps a bit later.times can vary from 8 in morn,12.30 and some times about 3 in dark nights. i will be putting cams on new nest over next few days,at moment putting up 40 foot tower next to nest site for filming,i will update shortly when cams are on new nest. hi everyone male sparrowhawk is back protecting his territory,he will be chosing his nest site shortly and will start building the nest first stages of nest entirly done by male,the female will help in feb it takes 4 months to build the nest. doing a bit each week,the male also at this early stages will fight off any other males trying to take over his territory,i will update info when he has started to build his nest. hi guys,the cams are a bit quiet this time of year,i will try to select cam where action is,i am making a film at moment on lives of the sparrowhawk so my appologies if cams dont change for a while now and again. but you will see some fantastic footage in breeding season. Dave.

Swans

Lovely view of 5 swans today. Don't know how long this camera will last though as one of the swans seems very interested in it - had a lovely close up of it pecking! It's all in black and white at the moment - hope it changes to colour soon.
