Hi ChrisP and everyone,
Seems there's evidence of an mostly eaten lunch by the looks of those leaves left on the branches...maybe a snack for later. Slept in again and missed them....Ah, it's that late night reporting at BDSP...lol. Hope everyone has a great day! bucko
Hi Carol, like you I can't believe it's a week since we had our VIP treatment down at the Zoo, great meeting Jill and Norman and of course Sita Zuri and Manyara..........see the girlies have had a good feast.........weather hasn't been so good down here today
I've just logged in and see Sita and Zuri enjoying their lunch in the far enclosure.....Sita was in the nearest one just a minute ago. It's now 1.45pm our time

Hello Jane & ChrisP,
Glad your news story is on again,as it is wonderful story. I see the two rhinos eating leaves. They are gorgeous. I love that they take the care in setting up their leaves like this. bucko

Hello Chris P & Jane & everyone,
Looks like their leaves are ready to be eaten. Area looks like it has been cleaned. I'm hoping I get to see them.bucko
Bucko, there is a cube shaped object in the rhino house today and it's an enrichment toy made out of old fire hoses donated by the local fire brigade. They have made all sorts of toys for the animals at the zoo out of the hoses - hammocks, ladders etc.

Hi Lulu & DAWGs,
I have just learned yesterday's cube shaped object was not an apple container. It was a mineral lick. Thanks for telling me Jane since I had been curious what that cubed shaped thing was yesterday.
Looks like the rhinos are out enjoying the fresh air. bucko
Or it could be a mineral lick. They sometimes have one in there. Yesterday they had a huge marrow hanging in one of the rhino houses - bet Zuri had fun with it when we'd gone home, or maybe it was for Manyara to divert his attention away from more mischief!

Hi Lulu and everyone,
I saw that cube thing too,and thought it might be the container for the apples. It took me a long time to figure out what it was. I thought I had probably just missed seeing the VIPs from BDSP,since I was lucky enough to catch the rhinos munching on leaves yesterday. bucko
Hi all. I just want to echo what Jane and Chris have already said - THANK YOU SO MUCH to Phil Knowling, press officer at Paignton Zoo, and also to keeper Lucy for all they did for us yesterday. The memories will live with all of us forever. We just can't thank you enough. MarkW - no we didn't meet Anthony Head, we were a day too late unfortunately.
Meet Sita, a 16 year old, rare, Black Rhinoceros at Paignton Zoo, Devon, England, and her calf Zuri, who was born Monday 5 March 2007, as featured on the BBC's websites.
The Black Rhinos are native to the eastern and central areas of Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, Cameroon, South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Although the Rhino is referred to as black, it is actually more of a grey/brown/white colour in appearance.
The best time to see Sita and Zuri is at feeding time 1.00pm GMT, although they tend to pop in throughout the day. So keep watching and they will appear.
Please note that this camera is only live between 9.00am to 7.00pm GMT.
