About
Lyme Regis boasts breathtaking scenery and a special mystique, making it a sparkling resort for all seasons. Its historic Cobb and harbour are iconic features, set against moody blue cliffs yielding fossilised evidence of life on earth millions of years ago.
Situated at the heart of the Jurassic Coast, Lyme Regis is a major centre for fossil collecting, recognised and acclaimed worldwide.
Famously depicted in the film version of John Fowles' The French Lieutenant's Woman and Jane Austen's Persuasion, the resort's unique appeal wins her a deserved accolade - a gem in the Westcountry's holiday playground.
Mounted on the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis, this webcam pans across Lyme Bay from Golden Cap in the east to the Lyme Regis Cobb and harbour in the west.
The camera zooms in to focus on the famous Cobb buildings, Marine Parade and Cobb Gate at the bottom of the high street. In bad weather you can see the waves breaking high over the Cobb wall where the iconic image of Meryl Streep was shot for the film "The French Lieutenant's Woman".

Outstanding camera views
My first visit to this site. I am very impressed with the variety of shots. This really does give one an idea of what the area is like: very impressive indeed. Thanks to all concerned.
the council are out cleaning
the council are out cleaning the beach ready for the day trippers....tractor pulling a machine that picks up the litter. ..It looks a lovely clean beach.I must go there one day and see what it is like. I was there as a child...many years ago, & I am sure I wouldn't recognise it now.
good to see the scaffolding
good to see the scaffolding has been taken down..looks lovely on this sunny day.
shame about the ugly
shame about the ugly scaffolding poles!
"black object"
That's only a scaffold pole, but as it looks like a strut, it isn't likely to be moved until the end of the job, whatever that is. I am sure it will be cleared before summer sets in.
Duffers :-))

I visited Lyme Regis
I visited Lyme Regis yesterday as I was at Barrington Court a few miles away. Lyme Regis is very quaint but totally different to what it was when I was a child. It was very foggy there and a bit chilly,.having left the beautiful hot sunshine earlier at Barrington Court. Nevertheless it was very pretty, beautiful blue sea which is not what I see at Clevedon and Weston Super Mare near where I live)
