About

The King Harry Floating Bridge is an iconic part of Cornwall’s history. Established in 1888, it connects St Mawes and the Roseland Peninsula with Feock, Truro and Falmouth by avoiding the alternative 27 mile route through Truro & Tresillian.

This camera gives an outstanding view around the River Fal on Cornwall's south coast.

you have to laugh don't

Submitted by MTB1 on Fri, 10/02/2012 - 13:51.

you have to laugh don't you!
There is a reporter on the ITV main news here in Grantham saying how bad it is with snow.
We have been out and about this morning with no trouble whatsoever lol.
We have to go down a hill on a side road which isn't gritted and it was no problem for any of the vehicles we saw.
Also saying that 3 of the local schools are closed due to bad weather, well the three mentioned are all easily accessible and the routes in are all clear.
I am very safety aware but the media need to stop scaremongering and tell things as they really are.
Weather conditions here are better than they were when we had the last snow fall.

Slow news day methinks

Submitted by MARJEAN on Fri, 10/02/2012 - 18:45.

Slow news day methinks !!!!!!!! I can't understand why they make so much of it. My son lived in Moscow for 10 years and he can tell you what snow is, and they carried on. The roads were kept clear, public transport kept going, planes ke[t flying. We were a joke to them. He is now in Khujand where there is deep snow and the temperature tonight is -15 real feel -24.
Luckily we only had rain last night.

Submitted by CarolW on Fri, 10/02/2012 - 12:56.

We could do with a windscreen wiper on the camera lens today lol. The snow has nearly gone from here now, but it's still very cold.

Not much snow here in South Glos - just some light snow overnight which is disappearing fast. The camera looks a bit wet at the moment.

Cold

Submitted by kernow lad on Fri, 10/02/2012 - 08:16.

Very cold here in Sth,. Glos,. thermometer reads -2c , but feels like -12c, about 1/2 inch covering of snow, and still a slght fall at the moment.
After yesterdays episode I promise no tears today, it can be very moving seeing one's county of birth looking so good, I was born in the village of Trewoon, Nr St Austell, but lived most of my childhood near Grampound.
As Duffer said, us Janners or Cousin Jack's are worldwide.
