About
The Seahorses are Zebra Snouted Seahorses (Hippocampus zebra) and have been bred at the centre.
Also in the tank are bright red Fire Shrimp and Dancing Shrimp which act as the clean up crew in the tank, helping to keep the tank clean.
You will also see small shrimp swimming around which are called Mysis Shrimp which are lunch dinner and tea for the Seahorses. These shrimp live in large numbers in estuaries and members of the Trusts' staff fish for them daily to make sure the Seahorses have the best possible health and food.

Seahorses so close!
Didn't know about the Seahorse Trust until I visited this site... and guess what? They're only a couple of miles from where we live! Definitely got to go and visit... and adopt a seahorse :-)

First Visit
This looks a promising website - even though it's 8.00 pm. I am going to have a look at this in daylight. It is really great that a camera should be set up so that the general public can catch glimpses of seahorses - which I have never seen in my life; so I nwill look forward to pleasant and interesting visits from now on;and my grateful thanks to whoever set up the camera. Thanks
Re: loads
Dear all,
many thanks for your comments on our Seahorses here at The Seahorse Trust.
We have a number of Seahorse tanks and the one you can see is the Zebra Snouted Seahorses; we have tank companions to clean the tank for us in the form of Shrimps and gobies.
The white cloud that can be seen occasionally is dead Mysis Shrimp which we feed the Seahorses on.
There are four adutl seahorses in the tank although we will be adding some of there fry into the tank soon; when they have got big enough.
Dont forget to check out our web site at www.theseahorsetrust.org
Many thanks

Re: Re: loads
Dear all, we have now put four Zebra Snouted fry in the tank, they are approximately 5 cms and usually sit on the edge of the algae. You can also see some live Mysis shrimp swimming around occasionally which we fish for each day.
