About

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is a Somerset based zoo just six miles from Bristol. The tapir house is resident to three Lowland Tapirs; Toby, Tara and their son Troy.

Toby and Tara arrived at Noah’s Ark in 2007 and in April 2009 they had their first baby, Troy. Troy is now reaching maturity so he will be off to a new home in the next couple of months.

The Tapirs are fed daily in the morning and you may see some visitors taking part in a keeper experience between 9.30- 10 am. The tapirs are also fed in the afternoon and fed outside at 2pm.

The homepage of Heads of Ayr Farm Park gives no information on Troy.....

Does anyone have any information about Troy please? I know he went to Heads of Ayr Farm Park and at one stage he appeared on the parks map but he doesn't appear anymore. Has he moved to another zoo/park? Is he OK?

Just booked a big zoo animals keeper experience with Noahs Ark. Not doing it until March but am really looking forward to getting close to Tara and Toby.

A Mara gets a quick snack

A Mara enjoys a quick snack before a tapir walks over. Suddenly,startled, the mara lifts up their head and pauses for a few seconds,and then the mara and tapir walk out of view,while one tapir rests on the hay covered floor. A minute later,the tapir and mara have walked back inside the enclosure.
