Glastonbury Experience

Submitted by bingothehutt on Mon, 30/01/2012 - 17:35.

Hello all....have a non-camera related question for anyone who might know. Can anyone tell me the names of the shops inside the little courtyard that has the "Glastonbury Experience" sign over it? I'd like to get in touch with some of them, but don't even know who to look for! hahaha. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Justin

Glastonbury Experience

Submitted by Jill Bird on Mon, 30/01/2012 - 23:44.

Hello Justin, You got me curious with your question, only went to Glasto. 3 weeks ago, but still couldn.t think of the names for you so l had to do a bit of searching to satisfy myself, anyway a couple of them are, `Stone Age'.,and another is The Isle of Avalon Foundation, also the library is there, and `Yin Yang' , if you need more go to Bing Maps, put in Glastonbury, next postcode BA69DU, then when the map comes up, on left side is a list choose businesses at this address and all of the shops etc. are shown plus phone no.s Hope this helps. take it of our screens until it is fixed

Submitted by blondi on Sun, 29/01/2012 - 17:50.

personally ..I think that if the webcam is not working and not likely to be.just take it off our screens until fixed as it is most annoying to have to look at that little image, click on it..and ...NOTHING....just a blank screen all the time. It's been going on for months. whoever is responsible, should get their act together!

Not for the want of trying.....

Submitted by Pkin on Mon, 09/01/2012 - 07:09.

I said I would write to the Glasto Press about the abysmal delivery of the Marketplace/High Street 'live' webcams 'in the second week of Jan'. That's from today.

All I have is the newspaper listed below, which has no website,-and research showing that some Glastonbury residents refer to apathy in Glastonbury, in relation to a discussion site that gets negligible responses to posts!

Others have referred to the strong influence the 'alternative' lifestylers have on the town. Such folk I tactfully suggest would have little interest in the performance of webcams!

So? snail mail to a newspaper to a town that might-MIGHT, not give a damn??

It isn't worth it.

I'm away to a national live webcam company. No adverts, just cams-some fail of course at any one time, but there are not problems on this scale- in this town.

Good luck with the Glastocams Glastocamfans-hopefully your loyalty will be rewarded-if masproman can shin up a pole and use some techspertise!!

All the best!

You need to chill out man

Submitted by shamanto on Tue, 17/01/2012 - 07:49.

Pkin If it isnt worth it then then it isnt worth it dont stress yourself out.

I would more than likely be "labled" by you and others here as an 'alternative' lifestyler :-) and albeit an Irish one I am an alternative lifestyle who also misses being able to see his Spiritual Home town on these cameras, but I am BLESSED to be outside the box and yes in between my Daily sacrificial offerings and blood lettings to the Gods and Goddesses and dancing skyclad and beating my drum to a pagan beat :-)) I am sure you are shocked to find, I also love to use the internet woooooooooooooooo.

Before you have a pop at The Oracle or the members of the town for being alternative or laid back as such, The Oracle is a free monthly paper that lists whats on it the town with articles of interest its NOT a newspaper it can be viewed online also http://www.glastonburyoracle.co.uk/

the Oracle is cerainly not the gutter press journals you may be seeking. The town has thousands of people living outside the box or alternatives and your right they wouldnt care if the camera is up or not, why would they? and neither would the local bank manager and politician who have far more influence on he town. Check out The Glastonbury People website they "may" be able to get you heard, .

So Amigo you clearly have let this camera issue get under your skin and for those of you who keep going on about it and talking about it and talking about it and talking about it, just do what I do here in the west coast of Ireland, Light a couple of Nag Champa, put a little chill out music on, Close your eyes take a long deep breath, in and out , in and out, and visualise sitting outside The Mocha Berry with a nice cuppa watching all the lovely HAPPY Gllastonbury people walk about oblivious that as a result of a micky mouse web camera above their heads, there is a dozen disgruntled web cam viewers screaming at their monitors "nooooooooooooooooooooooooo not again" in various languages and words to that effect.

Glastonbury will have 2 more "alternative lifestylers" as additions in the Spring when we move there to live :-)) but if the cameras are still out by then, then I will climp up and fix them myself, just for you my friends.

Sending the WORLD hugs and LOVE and it is what it is, a broken web cam or then again it may be that the cameras are sited over a Geopathic Stress line :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) you can take the man out of Glastonbury but never Glastonbury out of the man :-)

You may well have to climb that pole! These guys have a lot of troubles with their camera. Some of us can't move to where we belong - so we're hoping to stop in for a look! Careful if you do climb that pole!!!

Many thanks masproman !

Submitted by Pkin on Tue, 03/01/2012 - 06:25.

Another informative post!

I'll submit a letter to the local Glastonbury press next week as I said. It seems to me that the Council MUST take some responsibility for either 'encouraging' wifidud to take action,-or kicking them to the kerb! Cam's fail;-they fail, we must accept that like it or not;-but on this level it is totally unacceptable. Saga is the right word!

Perhaps local folk need to know that the servicing of their cams is abysmal. Some might prefer no cams-others might like them....functioning. But perhaps they should be made aware that Township cam's for Glastonbury are getting a global reputation for being lousy!!

Any help you can give masproman will be a Godsend to the camfans!
